From a list of very accomplished and admirable women, it is MUM who comes out on top for being the most inspirational to British women. 

Seven Seas’ new Women’s Health brand, Femibion, asked women to vote on the top 3 inspirational women in their life and the clear winner was Mum! In fact Mum was voted for 4 times more than any other person on a comprehensive list of famous and inspiring women. Second most popular first choice was JK Rowling, with Joanna Lumley coming a close third.

Results of the survey are unsurprising given that many famous daughters have cited their mum as a source of inspiration:

“I have zero problems when people say, ‘God, you look like your mother’. I go, ‘Well, great! Thanks!’ Actress Kate Hudson, daughter of Goldie Hawn. (Source: imdb.com)

Women’s Second Choice

Interestingly, the second choices were a lot more varied. Harry Potter author, JK Rowling, came out top, closely followed by Body Shop founder Anita Roddick and British Actress Joanne Lumley coming in 3rd, whilst Dame Judy Dench came in 4th.

Women’s Third choice

There was clear tie on this selection with JK Rowling, Dame Judy Dench and The Queen all receiving the same number of results.
